Science and medicine are amazing. There are pills and devices which lessen or eliminate periods for the most part.

WHATEVER you do, don't do what my frugal mother used to do! She'd wear them until there was nothing left! One day while grocery shopping, the aging elastic in her panties just gave up completely. There, in front of my 11-year-old-mortified-face, she deftly scooped up the dropped drawers and slipped them into her purse. I thought I would die of embarrassment even though no one saw but me and my Dad.

To this day, she laughs about the look on my face. Be a sport, ladies, when the elastic is about to give way, have mercy on your children and do not wear them out shopping.

I wonder what aliens took over my children because none of these adults calling me "Mom" were raised in MY home!

I wonder how it is that the minute I sit down to sew, have a cuppa or go to the loo without taking the phone with me it rings, I wonder why when I think - great I have a day to myself, someone rings and wants me to go to them, with them, mind their kiddies or come visit me. Are my family and friends all psychic or something. (I really never begrudge being with them though).
I also wonder where time goes, there is no way (is there) that an hour or so can go by while I am on this site, or meal times can suddenly arrive when I have only been in the sewing room for 5mins., couln't have possibly been 5hrs - could it.
Have a good day to all,

I wonder where the mosquitos and blow-flies come from so quickly as soon as the sun shines here in Australia.

This is gonna be deep: (for me anyway!)

I've always wondered how someone knew to separate ore from earth or knew that it was there in the first place.

How gemstones were "discovered" and known to be valuable.

What prompted Edison to think about that light bulb.

And all of the physics, algebra-how did someone know how to define such things....not to mention that element chart! never could learn all of that!

What put 2 and 2 together for Ben. F. to define electricity

And finally-what was the deal with the large rock statues on Easter Island

Who and How? Sap from one tree makes turpentine and another makes maple syrup?

Mother nature has a strange way with us!!! When we age we get hair on our chins,a mustache, and have to shave or pluck them, meanwhile the hair "where no one sees" just fades away!! 'spain that to me'!!!
