Digitalis - the medicine - comes from the foxglove plant, and as a gardener I know that all parts of the plant are poisonous.

    And yet...

... someone figured out that just a little bit of it will help an ailing heart.

How did they figure that out? How many people died while the "recipe" was being perfected?

How do the deer in my yard know never to feed on the foxglove leaves?

The life span of a rock is so long that I've always wondered if rocks are aware of humans. :?:

This is a real good question. I don't think it's fashionable, I think it's stupid. I always thought bra straps were to be concealed as was underwear. Some guys have their pants so far down, it's a wonder they don't trip on the legs of their pants. It's disgusting. I don't care to see their hind ends!!
It's evolution. Imagine what the Victorians would have thought about the bikini. And how does Victoria's Secret get away with showing women in their underwear on prime time TV?

i remember when i was a kid, the platex bra commercials on tv had a woman with a black turtle neck sweater, with the white bra on the outside...

last christmas, there was some perfume commercial on tv where the runway model was striding right toward the camera, taking off her clothes...

our dgd says "look grumpy (dh) she's gonna get nakie..."

    my how times have changed.
