Thank you all!!!! I think some of the leftover fabrics I can use for the postage stamp quilt. My mind just flies with what all I want to get done. I'm setting here stuffing pumpkins now while checking my e-mails.

I've been thinking about putting some quilt tops up for sale. I've got so many things that need quilted. I'll never get to them all. Because I love making more.

I cut out this big three tier pumpkin. I can't wait to get it done. I want to see what it's going to look like myself.

I need to be an octupus with 8 arms and hands. I could a lot more done quicker. giggle

Love the pumpkins! Are they hard to make? I am pretty new to sewing.

I don't think they are hard at all. The only trouble I have is getting the top part closed after I get it stuffed. It's easier if you have someone to help hold it. I don't know how many times I end up letting it loose to just have to do it again.

I tried it two different ways to close the hole.

The first I just did a running stitch around the edge while turning under a quarter inch.

The second procedure, I can do a little better. I go ahead and knot my thread. Put the thread underneath when you turn your 1/4" seam allowance under. Then I stitch it a few times in and around the same place. Then I do a running stitch all the way around the pumpkin top turning under the edge as I go. Then I pull it tight and fight with it to get a stitch in it. But still don't let go. I get several stitches in there before I can turn it loose. Then I do more stitches in and around the same place. The knot it and tie off.

The reason I don't sew it all in the same place is so the fabric doesn't rip. It really puts a lot of stress on the fabric when you pull it tight.

I do the bottom part, with my fabric wrong side out, before I start stuffing. It's a lot easier that way. And then just turn it right side out and start stuffing.

I'm not sure where I got the pattern.
