I have most of the triggers listed here. I have suffered from migraines for over 30 years. At times I have them 4-6 days a week. When on preventative meds I only have them 1-2 days a week. That is while also watching everything I eat and making sure to eat often enough and not getting overheated and getting enough sleep and trying to avoid all my other triggers.
I took Imitrex for 10 years and have now taken Relpax for 5 years. These drugs have totally changed my life. To be able to function somewhat and not suffer from a migraine for 3 days is a true miracle.

I had alot of migrains for years starting as an adult, smells, some food, equcalipst, strong smells, then I thought I was losing my vision, which turned up to be tunnel vision, which would happen before the pain of the migrain. Guest what, it was a blocked artery in my heart, I had 2 stints put in, it all stopped. I'm fine now

For me it is stress, nervous tension, perfume and other chemical odors, bright sunlight and eating very much chocolate. In other words, I'm a mess. My doctor put me on a beta blocker for high bp and that has helped tremendously, but stress and nervous tension really knock the socks off me.

This is my second post on this topic. I have read the entire thread of comments so far and I feel like I've joined some sort of "support group" within this Quilting Bd; For sure, those of us who are plagued with migraines know how terrible they are. Family & friends who have been spared of this sometimes don't understand why migraines are so debillitating .... kind of like you can hear them thinking "it is just a headache, so take some aspirin and get over it". Well if only it was that simple, huh?

Hormone changes with menstrual cycle. I was on HRT and that didn't bother me much, but once I quit that, They went away. I also was troubled by scents (Perfume, aftershave, some flowers.) I took imitrex which was a Godsend. It worked almost all of the time, but when it didn't, I'd end up in the ER for shots that didn't do a whole lot. When the headaches were at their worst, I'd have them about 6 out of 28 days. Made holding a job almost impossible.
