    It's definitely is not tatting, but Battenburg Lace sounds right to me. A lady in a Russian nursing home gave me some dresser scarves in Battenburg Lace. It looks very much like that.

    No, it's not Battenburg lace either. That is made with woven tape sewn onto a background in a beautiful pattern. Sometimes the background can be later removed, leaving only the tape pattern.

    This could be some kind of needle lace.
