Default What are you asking for for Christmas?

I don't know what to ask for for Christmas. I am thinking about an Ipad 3. But then I think I will be online too much. I found The Quilting Board and now I spend too much time here and not enough sewing. And it's not even the board that I spend my time. I will read about some nifty gadget or see some pattern or fabric and off I go in search of it on Google and there goes my times!

Sounds like I'm addicted to the computer! My sewing machine was down (I thought) for about 3 weeks and I spent all my free time on the computer; sometimes I would spend 6 hours at a time on my desktop. Doesn't that shout "don't get an Ipad 3?"

Okay, what do I get for Christmas? I don't need any fabric or patterns or books or magazines. No clothes or shoes or purses. The LQS around here aren't buying new fabric and aren't having any classes, so that's out. My husband needs an idea for me. He'll end up getting me a Visa card and that's okay, but I made him a King quilt and bought him some very nice shoes plus other items. I don't want him to be empty handed when it comes to me. But I have all the quilting things I need. Help!!

Maybe an Ipad 3 I could watch Netflix on and YouTube videos in my sewing room and have patterns up of quilts I'm making instead of using copy paper and all that ink to print instructions for the patterns. That was the main reason I wanted it. And so I could Facetime my husband because he works for the railroad and is always out of town at a motel and we could see each other and talk. That would be so nice!! I don't have the set up on my computer.

DH has already had me pick out my main gift...he got me a new MacBook Pro laptop! He also had me order an American Girl doll for myself. We got 2 of our granddaughter's each 1 for their bdays last month and I'm making clothes and bought trunks for their dolls for them for Christmas. DH said I need 1 too so I can "play" with them! Yea! He said he has bought me something to open on Christmas as well. I'm not spoiled...just well taken care of!

"I am not sure what I want" was the answer I gave my husband. So he decided for me.......a shopping spree at JoAnns, either online or in the store my choice.

I couldn't think of anything.....I got a brand new custom built computer for my birthday, a new laptop a few months ago out of the blue. A LA machine with frame, a stash to keep me busy for 5 lifetimes, 2 sewing rooms.

A beautiful home, a loving husband, 7 mean arse kids and 13 wonderful grandkids, 3 dogs and 1 very pesky cat.... I have all I need.

As Diannia says............" I'm not spoiled...just well taken care of!"

I have the same problem every birthday and Christmas - when you have what you need it's hard to want more. So I like to read and still love to have books rather than the computer (even though very tempting) because I love the feel of books and also don't want to spend more time on the computer than I already do. And I do like gift cards for places to eat and fabric stores, even Amazon.com has great gift cards. My friend has an I-Pad, given to her by her daughter and she uses it for pictures, takes it on vacations and has a wonderful time.

I don't need a thing nor do I want anything. I have everything I want. When I decide I want something I just go and buy it. That way I get what I want.

For the Netflix, Youtube, and pattern part, a Kindle Fire will do all of that for MUCH less than the iPad3. I have the original Kindle Fire, and LOVE it. I use it to stream movies/TV while DH is gaming on XBox live on the big TV, I read books, Facebook, etc, etc.

Works like a charm for me! (And you'll have money left for quilting stuff!)

We need nothing and only ask for peace and an end to the political bickering that is holding our country hostage.

Since I am my own Santa, I've taken great care of me! So far I got a new desk chair, an iPad 32gb, a new Toshiba laptop, a new Citizen's ecodrive watch 'cause my Ebel needs about $500 worth of work done at the factory and of course assorted fabric and thread. And, sneak that I am, I already know what my daughter is getting for me (at least in generalities); what, if anything, the rest of them get for me I won't know. I usually don't want them to get me anything...but prefer that they either do something really nice for someone who needs it, or give their families something nice. Now I know some of you might be thinking that I've already been too extravagant...but, when my husband was living, he was much more generous than I am to me. So I've really racheted things down quite a bit...but I also like to give as much as I can to charities so I guess it evens out.

I would like a new quilting table with drawers and stuff, so far the only place I have seen it is Nancy's Notions, but alas, I have no idea what to do with the table I have now, and I love it too. Hmmm, maybe someone needs a quilting table .
