I loved Pillars too, he is such a good writer. Have read all his books. Just started the Fall of the Giants. Spend my pin money on fabric now so have to wait for the library to get the books.

I read that shortly after visiting Chicago 2 years ago. What a good book! Didn't know they're making a movie. Will definitely see that one.

My son gave me "Borderline" by Nevada Barr for Christmas. Read it in record time now I'm devouring other titles by her. Love finding a new author that I like.

Just finished "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" (true story) about a woman whose cancer cells were removed and used for testing without her knowledge and has led to a multibillion dollar industry and questions the privacy laws for medical research.
Do I sound like the retired librarian I am (LOL).
I've just started this one so far so good - Henrietta Lacks story

Because I ran out of library books last week looked through my own collection (quite a few I haven't read yet) and found 'The Railway Children' such a lovely story and realised the film with Jenny Agutter was made exactly like it

For those of us who like mysteries check out "Bryant and May on the Loose: A Peculiar Crimes Unit Mystery" by Christopher Fowler. The series is great. Also the southern sister mysteries by Ann George- only one I can think of is "Murder on a Girl's Night Out"

Love the Shell Seekers, but haven't read it in years! Thanks for the reminder.

I'm currently reading the 1994 - 1996 book, "The City on a Hill" about Ronald Reagan written by his son, Michael. Brings back many good memories of "The Gipper." I'm also starting a Bible study tomorrow titled, "The Disciple's Cross," but haven't got the book yet.

The Mountain Between Us by Charles Martin. It is a wonderful love story. Written by a man, I couldn't believe these words came from a man. When I started the book I wasn't sure I was going to like it but it started to warm up and then I couldn't put it down. Then I was sad that I had finished it.
