I keep it at a consintate 73. My husband likes it cooler and I need it warmer so we settle on 72 or 73.

We have had some miserably hot, humid days but I usually can tolerate it with the central air set at 78-80 with ceiling fans on. I turn it up to 84 at night. About four years ago we put a window unit in our master bedroom that I can crank down to 63 at night and sleep like I love to--really cold room and heavy covers on me at night (also have the ceiling fan and a little bedside fan on). Since we started doing it this way we have cut our electric bills by a bunch! I think that the highest bill last summer was $130.

78 is my perfect temperature. I am cold-blooded with arthritis!

For those of us who aren't good with the heat- we set it at 74 most of the time. I'm just thankful my husband has fianlly figured out he does not want to move someplace really hot. My idea of ideal temps are 50-75 degrees.

I'm with you I keep it at 77 and have a fan to circulate the air when the outside temp is the same and it shuts off. I have when it has dead air in the house. I prefer the windows open and the air blowing from outside but when it's hot it's hot and I don't like when it's to cold inside. I'm cold all winter and don't want to be cold in the summer just comfortable. It's too expensive to run at a lower temp like even 72... to cold.....

74 / 75 daytime and at night we like the windows open if it isn' too hot. We love the fresh air.

80

We have a 3600 sq ft house, that has an old half, 1918, and a newer half, 1992.
Each part has its own furnace and ac, meaning I can 'zone' it depending on what is being done or who's in each half. I keep the older half cooler, at 76, because the 2 berooms above need more cooling

Our house is 2600 sq ft and was built in 1969...
it isn't of the most efficient construction.

Here in S.E. Texas we've had nearly unbearable heat.
Yesterday the temp in the car read 109 degrees.

Our AC stays set on 68, it runs ALL the time and our house stays around 75.
Our NEXT house will be new construction and a heck of a lot more energy efficient!
