Hi just wondered what your favorite gift was. Mine was a whole lot of quilting books and no repotision either. That was great thanks to my very thoughtful family and friends.
Happy New Year to you all.

A $200 gift card to Threads of Time in Danville Illinois. That happens to be my favorite LQS. They have a thing going on this week where you can purchase for $350 a year long pass for unlimited retreat stays at no additional charge. So, on Saturday I'm going there to buy my Free Retreats for a Year pass. Also, by making any purchase of over $175 I'll get double reward points for all of 2011. So buying the card will accomplish that too.

My favorite gift was getting to see my brother. He came out to surprise me for my college graduation, which was on December 17th. Complete surprise. He had been in Afghanistan for almost a year (he is in the air force). I don't get to see him much-he is stationed in Colorado. It really meant a lot that he went through all of the trouble (and money) to fly out to see me (I live in California). He was having trouble getting his base to approve leave and kept submitting the paperwork until they said yes.

Seen my daughter's face when she opened her sewing machine. She was bitten by the quilting bug 10 years ago, learned, made a couple of quilts, but high school and college are no time for quilting. Now she has one semester left on her masters degree and she is ready to get back into it. Have her shopping in my small stash was wonderful. She gets very excited over fabric. Thanks to a bunch of wonderful people on the board my daughter and I will be sewing together again. Love you, guys.

Surprisingly ... I received nothing quilt-related at all. Even a Joann's gift card would have been a total no-brainer from anybody. No books, no nothing. I was very disappointed. I did get some CASH which I've yet to decide how to spend, but .......... I'm going to Joann's today (for specific items; not to shop she says). Maybe I'll just pull from that envelope a few dollars at a time.

A donut shaped travel pillow. DH got me also a 6x2 1/2 feet ironning board several months ago. I use that all the time and we counted that as an early Christmas pressent since it was pricey. He is still getting me a silver irroning board cover for it. No quilty stuff besides that unless you count chocolate from one of my sons and his fiancee.

Was this by chance the "Total Pillow?" My husband received one, and I've basically taken it over. It's actually as good as they say on the commercials.

My favorite present (besides a gift card to JoAnn's), was an outdoor table and chair set my mom bought us. The three of us saw it a while ago in a thrift store, but DH and I didn't feel like spending $100 that day, so we passed on it. My mom told me she went in a week later and it was still there, so she thought it was meant to be. It was such a thoughtful gift, to get us something she knew we already loved.
