Babysitting was my 1st job- 25cents an hour! But my 1st real job was in a fabric store at 15. Made $1 an hour + commission. I already had a "stash" going as I started making all my own clothes at 12 but that job really was the beginning of my addiction!

first job: age 14. folding napkins for a convention center. they were short servers one time and let me out on the floor to pick up dirty plates from people. a butter knife slipped off and went down a man's shirt back. I was ushered out in a hurry! back to folding napkins!!

My first jobs were all at the same time. I was 11 and babysitting a horrible little boy 8 hours a day 5 days a week. I also did my great aunt's ironing, sold Current stationary, made and sold jewelry, and sewed clothes for some of my cousins.
When I was 13 I painted the outside of my grandmother's house. At 14 I started working with my mom making custom draperies and did that for 9 more years.
I was a very busy little girl!

Babysitting (for .25 - .50 cents/hour), working in the basement of our church when hosting events (Bazaar's, etc). Also worked at a Foster Care Home as a Helper for 2 years. Learned a lot working alongside veteran mothers and caregivers at the home.

My first job other than babysitting and hay baling was working at what was then Collins Radio, now known as Rockwell International. I got to help make parts for the Apollo Project moon rockets. To this day, the most interesting job I ever had.
