Home alone and doing some clutter cleaning. DH works in the meat department of the grocery store and it's a busy weekend for them. We will be going to see the fireworks after he gets off work tomorrow. Just bought a new grill but it needs to be put together so my grilling out will happen Tuesday night!

We are currently on vacation with my side of the family. 16 of us in one house for a week. Yikes! It's our version of 'hell week' although it is great to see all the nieces and nephews. We've been doing this for over 25 years. We usually get to watch fireworks from the deck so don't need to travel for that either.

Also doing a swim and grill in the back yard with our children and grand children. One of my DDs, in a different state, is very over due with a baby girl and I hope the baby will be born on the Fourth of July. It is my favorite holiday. I have been teasing DD that she needs to name the baby America if baby girl is born on the Fourth of July.

We are having out BBQ today since one of DD's has to work on the 4th. (She works with troubled youth from the age of 12 - 18 and holidays are not recognized.) My DH works today because he works for the local MLB team and there is a game but he will be home in time to cook the meat, all else is ready to go, including the home made ice cream. Oh, I still need to slice the tomatoes and onions for the hamburgers, but all else is ready. So tomorrow I get to sew all day since I got my laundry done today, too.

quiltingcandy, I make home made ice cream as well. I have an electric churn that requires rock salt and ice, and I also have a Cuisinart indoor churn where you put the bowls in the freezer. When I was a child, my grandfather had an antique hand crank churn and it made something like 20 gallons. They would put a burlap sack on top and sit me on it to weight it down while he and my father took turns churning. Then we would load the deep freezer with the ice cream. BTW, Amazon sells a Ben & Jerry's book that is pretty good. It has the Cherry Garcia recipe in it. I bought a used copy for something like $5.00. If you want to impress your friends & family: Take two bowls, one bigger that the other. Pour water in between the two bowls, then put in the freezer. When they are frozen, put them in cool water for a few minutes to de-mold them from the ice, and you have a very cool ice bowl for your ice cream. You can put flower petals in the water before freezing to decorate your ice bowl.

Staying home as usual, doing some housework and making next to oldest Grands a quilt for their new camper.
We all got together last weekend to celebrate our 2nd Grandson's graduating with 6 honors from the Law Enforcement Academy. Very proud, he is now a Police Officer.

We will be grilling and chilling also. Surf and turf, and a big veggie boil. One son is out of town with his family, and the other volunteered to work so another guy could spend time with his family. He'll join us after his shift. Hoping for a very relaxing day!

Our son and wife are working today in the health field, so we get to have our three grands to come for the day!! Very excited! They are still young, so we have the sand box, wading pool, bubbles, beanbag toss planned. Also a craft for the older girls and some fun foods, decorating cupcakes. We haven't had them for awhile, so are really looking forward to a play day. Weather is great here, so should be able to spend lots of time outdoors. If we can stay awake till then, may walk to the end of the street at dark to see the town fireworks, but no guarantees about that! Have a lovely 4th, Everyone!
