I am sure we are all grown ups and know that when and if persons break the rules and continue to disrupt and such, they are locked out. It is no secret and I don't know why everyone tiptoes around it. I also am sure if this happens, everything was done to avoid it. We are left to wonder if we don't know those people where they went and why they have gone from here. These rules are in place to protect the board and to make it the wonderful place that it is. To say no one has ever been locked out makes us a liar and I don't think that is supposed to happen. To be a member of this board means following the rules that protect us in order to continue to have this board to "live on" LOL. Now if I disappear you know where I went? Just kidding. People also come and go as in life and we cannot always think it was for negative reasons. Life happens. I know for a fact that Admin and the moderators give us every benefit of the doubt before any actions are taken. Thank you.

at the time the "nobody has been locked out" statement was made, it was true.

since then, a few members have unfortunately been denied access to the board. we don't like to talk about it publicly. we don't like to talk about it at all. it's painful on so many levels. and, frankly, announcing it would be tacky and pointless.

it wouldn't put an end to the questions because not enough people read all the way through any topic before they post. we'd end up announcing it over and over and over again.

it wouldn't put an end to the speculation and rumors because not all of those who did read the announcement would pass on the information exactly as presented.

there'd be more rumors, public debates that would degenerate into catfights, and other sorts of extremely unpleasant "conversation" about it. they've caused enough trouble. we don't care to reward them for it by turning them into folk heros.

it's bad enough that a few people have behaved in ways that are either so dishonest, disruptive, vulgar, hostile to the board and our members, and/or otherwise so malicious we were forced to lock them out. it's a betrayal of our trust and friendship. it would be even worse if we are forced to compound the action by having to report repeatedly, explain repeatedly, and to drag that person through the mud just to prove a point or to satisfy curiosity.

we offer mishaving members several opportunities to straighten up and fly right before taking final action. in the end, though, we will protect this board. we will protect our members. you are our friends and family. we owe you nothing less than the very best we can do to keep this a safe, happy, friendly and civilized place to gather and share.

And that is precisely why this is "home".

I fully agree. PatriceJ you have such a great way of stating things, you just proved my point to my reply that you guys take care of our "home" and us. YOu went a step further to explain why it isn't annouced because it adds fuel to the fire. Thank you again so much for clarifying. I think your statement settled the whole thing in a nutshell. By the way, I know what your "real" occupation is...group counselor-right? HUGS BY the way fellow members, I in no way meant Admin or moderators were the ones who were not the truthful ones.
