Sweet Tango's- an apple that was developed in Minn and planted in just a few areas (western NY was one of them!) and honey crisp apples.
I didn't realize how lucky I was to live where apples are plentiful until I moved to Hawaii and only had apples that would ship well. One of the few advantages to living in western NY :-)

We live about 30 minutes from Apple Hill in the Sierras. I love going up and getting them them there. Honey Crisp in the first ones we look forward to, then the Golden Delicious and now we have Mutsu. Our favorite place to get them is Larson's. They have been around for over a hundred years. If you live in the area, this is a wonderful outing. There are places that entice you in with fresh made apple donuts, others specialize in pies and one has a fishing pond with a Sierra vista that I would love to see each day.
