    My greatgrandfather amoung other things like being a river boat gambler- spent years splicing and grafting to create a tree that would bear many different fruits. In the process he created the Golden delicious apple

    WOW!! Thats so cool to know!!! I bet you're proud of him, thats one of my faves IF you can find a good one! And like one woman said, the Red Delicious just isn't as good as they used to be. A lot of flavor is lost from those so long ago. Thansk for the info, thats really nice to know!!
