When buying a kit -
Do you always check through it right away to make sure that everything is included that should be included?
Or are you like me, and have a hard time putting stuff back in the package and just leave it as is and hope for the best?
Have you sometimes put it aside - to get to "later" - and then found that a key fabric is missing and you don't remember where you got it or misplaced the sales slip?

I've only bought one kit, so I do not have a lot of experience. I opened it on the day it arrived. I got "This Otter Be Fun" and one piece was not large enough no matter how I set it. I emailed the store and they made it right. I have heard many others say they have had things missing or incomplete instructions, so now I just make up my own things and use fabric from my stash.

We, I am off to check a kit I just bought. Hope it has enough fabric because I know I don't have any in my stash of several of the batiks. Thanks for the warning. Although I have not had a problem with kits before, one never knows.

Yes, I haven't purchased many quilting kits but I have purchased a lot of needlepoint kits in the past. I check them immediately before I lose the invoice. It's a lot easier to get customer service when you can return the item.

It's a good habit to get into. I bought a kit from a large shop in NH for my cousin. Didn't check it and waited to take it to her in a few months' time. A few weeks later, a piece of background fabric showed up in the mail, unrequested. Boy, was I impressed.

No I don't and you'd think I'd learn. Way too many times I've gotten a kit because I love a certain fabric in the picture, only to find later some fabrics were substituted. And a few times there was no book or pattern included, usually missed by me when I bought it thinking it was all together.
