Had similar problem to Luv Quilts and Cats one morning at Faire. Did the 3am potty run, made it down the stairs ok, but stepped on poor Patrick (black lab...hard to see in the dark with only one eye open!) before I got to the door. On the way back he had moved and I tripped over him that time. I apologized (quietly so as not to wake everyone else up), but he was not friendly to me all day.
