When my five year old dripped milk on his new shirt I had made for him, he quickly wiped it off and said, "oh, don't worry about that, it's made from 'wipe and don't worry' material."

I am sitting here laughing so hard I have tears in my eyes. These are priceless! I can think of a few-

oldest dd, now age 32, used to have invisible friends- Wilma and Betty (the Flintstones) and one time my sisters were visiting and she starts screaming hysterically. We all start asking- what's wrong? are you hurt? She screams- Aunt Rose sat on Wilma! Wilma was sitting on the couch and my sister "squished"her. We still tease her.

My younger son called diapers- bappers. We refer to bappers for the little ones now. They all know what we mean. Oh- and oldest dd said "crash crash" for wash cloth. We still use that one too.

My son Jerry said "sorks" for forks- we use that word too.

Oh- the best one- there are 5 years between the daughters- Hope is older than April (we call her A). One time Hope (age 7) wanted to take A (age 2) for a ride in her umbrella stroller by herself. I strapped her in. Both are happy, off they go. About 10 minutes later I hear screaming and sobbing and a pack of kids come to the door. Here's Hope pushing the stroller with her sister in it- who is screaming at the top of her lungs. She's all banged up and scraped- head, arms, knees. A mess. Hope said she wanted to see what would happen if she let A go down the hill by herself. Of course, she went out of control and flipped over. All the kids in the neighborhood were watching and brought them home. A still reminds her sister of that and vows revenge someday.

when I worked at night my little daughter would leave me presents at the door for when I would come home at night from work. Of course they were something that i had around the house that she wrapped up.
She was my devil she would get up in the middle of the night go into the cupboard and get the double stuff oreo's out eat the middles (cream) and leave a pile of chocolate cookie on the floor where she ate them. Then she would go back to bed. Those were my favorite times in my life when the kids were small.

My granddaughter is now 8 going on 16. She is feisty and stands up to anyone who wants to push her around. She has Russell Silvers Syndrome which means she doesn't grow. She is the height of a 5 yr old. About 2 yrs ago my DD took her to Des Moines to a RSS specialist. I went along to help "convince" Rachel to do what she needed to do for tests. We didn't tell her she was going to have to have blood drawn as she would have lit up like a firecracker which she did when she found out! LOL
We tried coaxing we tried sweet talk we tried you have to do this honey etc. She hid herself in her mom's lap and wouldn't cooperate. so the concensus was we had to hold her and do it quickly. So Sara held the arm she needed for the blood draw I cradled her head and other arm and the nurses held her legs etc. Rachel is not one to cry she gets mad! She's saying you can't do this! I don't want to do this!! GET OFF ME! I WANT MY DADDY! HE WON'T LET YOU DO THIS TO ME!!! She wasn't crying like most kids would she was spitting mad!! LOL Not litterally spitting. I tried to soothe her and I tried to distract but nothing doing!! She just knew her Daddy was going to save her!!

So the next time we went up we had to reassure her she wasn't getting any blood drawn!! LOL So then they started doing hormone shots every night and she got used to having the shots. She kept track of where the next shot was to go. You had to alternate between legs and arms each time. They finally stopped the shots as they weren't really helping.
Giving her shots was not my favorite thing to do! Giving meds is no problem but shots I hate doing!
