When my daughter Sara was little she used to run outside any chance she got without a diaper. The family dubbed her Saresy-Baresy! To this day if her dad wants to tease her (she is 34) he will call her that! She absolutely hates it!! LOL But she takes it with good grace from her dad but death to anyone else who uses it!! LOL
One of my little guys would also run out without any clothes. I found him screaming one day in the sandbox, only to discover that a spider had bitten his little private part! Fortunately, there was no permanent damage, but, oh the nicknames he still has to this day!
My daughter also liked to strip. One moment she would be outside (in the front yard no less)with clothes and the next off came the pants, undies or smimsuit. We even got her on tape dancing and whipping off her undies and twirling them up in the air. She even watched herself on TV while we were taping her.

My husband and I are of German heritage and grew up enjoying foods like sauerkraut and sausage. However, after the kids came along and life got so hectic, we just didn't have that very often. When our girls were about 8 & 5, I fixed sauerkraut and sausage for supper one night. Of course they both wrinkled their noses and told us how they didn't like that dish. But they knew we had a rule that they'd have to try one spoonful. When the 5-year-old took a bite, she made a face and said, "I told you I never liked that sour-crap stuff!" Trying to keep a straight face, I asked her to repeat what she'd said, and it came out the same again..."I never liked that sour-crap!" So, I explained that it was called sauer-KRAUT, and she sheepishly apologized, realizing she had used the wrong word. We told her that was OK, just a misunderstanding. That's when we hear the 8-year-old mutter under her breath, "Well, that's what it tastes like!"

My sister's kids also had said some doozies sometimes. I was still at home, in high school, and the kids were spending the weekend with us. They were about 6(boy) & 3(girl). Todd was running through the house and happened to rap his knuckles on the living room door jamb. I know it hurt! He hopped around, shaking his hand, and said, "Oh, damn!" My mother, a devout Baptist, looked shocked and said, "Todd, we don't talk like that in our house!".....after which his 3-year-old sister said, "Yeah, you s**t-a$$!" I thought my mother would have a stroke!!! But you know, although she would never use lauguage like that herself, that was one of her most-repeated stories over the years. Grandkids just can't do anything wrong!

Just last night my 5yr old son came into my room and said, "Mom,my bottom hurts. I need some gasoline on it." What? He meant vaseline! I about fell out! I had to explain to him that gasoline wasn't what he needed.

We got a puppy when my son was about 3. We were trying to name the puppy and we decided to call him "Mittens" because he was all black with 4 white feet.

One day in the car Mark kept referring to gloves. We just couldn't figure out what he was talking about. Then it came to us - the dog!

    "Boots" became a treasured pet!
