Almost always, but there are times when I can't even find a cart corral and am far from the store. In those cases, I at least make the effort to put the cart out of cars' way and so it won't roll.

I got into a real argument with a woman who wanted to leave her cart in the empty parking space next to her - the one I was trying to pull into! I waited while she loaded the groceries into her SUV - it's not like she didn't know I was there. I wasn't even asking her to put the cart in the nearby corral, just up at the front of the space so I could pull in. She called me all kinds of names.

If I don't have a lot of groceries, I return the cart to the area inside the store. If I take the cart out to the parking lot, I return it to the corral area.

The only time I don't do this is when the lot doesn't have a corral area. One store's corral areas were within 5 parking spaces of the store & no-where else (I'm not kidding).

Yes I definitely do. Nothing more annoying than carts in the way. I believe it is the right thing to do, part of being courteous to others. Shame on those who don't!! I caught my MIL leaving her's in a parking space one time at the local grocery store and called her when I got home to tell her I witnessed it. She was quite embarrassed lol.

It's why I park as close to a cart return rack as possible.
