When you find that place, please let me know!
.
The people, well, lets just say, they aren't to kind to "outsiders". What that means, is that they are ALL related to each other and don't like "city" folk coming out this way. So, I have made a couple of friends but nothing real close.
The other down fall to county life is being 45 minutes from EVERYTHING! The nearest stores, like the mall and Wal-Mart are so far to go to. You plan a whole shopping day when you decide to go.
There are NO jobs here either. Unless you are related to someone, you will NOT get a local job. I found that out real quick! LOL
Dh and I are still young, early 40's but we just look forward to moving where it is warm, cheaper taxes and less work to do around the house.[/quote]

Well, I have lived in Ohio, California,Florida, Oregon, back to Florida and now back to Ohio. Not my favorite place but my only living sister is just 2 miles away and we have always been close so this is where I want to be for now.

I love where I live. I was born and brought up just north of Boston but always felt out of place in the city. We moved to Maine in 1976 and I won't even go back to visit my home town now. This is exactly where I was meant to be I think.

the price of thigs here are so high i want to leave. BUT
I just bought a condo, 2 bed on a golf course, with indoor/outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, clubhouse with jacuzzi, movies, walking trails, bocci, weekly bar-b-q's and partys, craft clubs ect. i am now about 20 min from pub library,(yuck) have a small lib on premisis, and workout room and teen room, about 20 min from beach on north and south shore, 60 minutes form NYC and MOntauk pt. I'd have to live by water, since i'mso used to it. but i do love it here.

I have never lived more than 3 miles from the house in which I was born. Love this Lake Erie area of the northeast. Love the seasons and love the people. I am now retired and have a motto in my kitchen, LET IS SNOW. Have lots of canned goods in the basement and a full freezer. Have my quilting and my books and crossword puzzles. Who's richer than I am?

i moved from a small town in iowa about 55 years ago. lakewood co. has nice weather...but there are to many people here. the crime is bad. i would like to move to a small town ..maybe to mo.i would like to have an underground home. cheeper living. lower utilities and safe from storms. they are very light and quite. my husband does not want to move from here. my sister, son, grandson, and friends live here but still would like a slower way of life.
