95 degrees here and heat index 106, 89% humidity--it is awful, awful outdoors. I am used to heat and humidity, but this stretch is miserable.

Rub it in... I'm over 100 again. My basil is getting really dehydrated this year (smells good though) and will be really easy to harvest. I am hand watering potted plants 2 times a day and they still look puny. It is probably time to pull the plug on most of them. Even my xeroscaping natives are really brittle.

It is so hot here that the chili peppers in my DM garden are turning red. These are green and yellow chili's.

I'm having a hard time getting my tomatos to turn red. You can send a little of that heat this way!

I just got up (Hubby works night shift), and here in NW GA it's currently 98 degrees with a heat index of 109 ... at 7pm.

I don't know for sure how hot it was in the middle of the day. We slept through it, with the A/C blowing across the bed.

Hubby just left for work. He's broke out with a heat rash everywhere, especially in "unmentionable places". Poor guy. I never could find those water crystals to make him some neck coolers. I finally ordered some off eBay. Hopefully they'll be here in a couple of days.

The heat and humidity has found it's way back to Maine after about a week of relief. Hope it doesn't stay too long this time, as I don't like it! That is why I live here, I don't like heat lol.
