Yep, she's a ringneck dove, and I have to watch her carefully when I have fabric out to prevent it getting hit with "birdie bombs" (I really should buy her a "bird diaper" one of these years).

They've lived together for seven years now, and pretty much ignore each other. The cat is now nearly 17 and rather lazy, so has never been prone to hunting her. She teases him, which isn't smart, but then a head that small probably doesn't have room for much of a brain :).

More photos of my surrogate kids at http://www.facebook.com/album.php?ai...1&l=4e3f57518e (it's a public link, you don't have to have a Facebook account).

I have a helper, Annie. She was a stray kitty we got last year. Annie is on the small side but she loves being on the sewing table and into any current projects. If hubby or I are on the computer, Annie is generally sitting on the printer and then she wants to be held and will be between us and the keyboard. Annie is about 2 1/2 years old now. She made her little visit to the vet so there won't be any little 'troubles' running around the house.

They know they're cute, and take full advantage of it to shamelessly manipulate me. :)

Oh, we had a darling cat just like yours! Sure miss him.

no pets in the house now. Our grand kids live with us and they would pester a pet too much, and one of them is allergic to cats AND dogs. When they move, we will consider getting a pet again.

warm quilt hugs, sue in CA
