I love gardening. I have 2 raised beds I plant tomatoes, bell peppers and onions. My favorite though is flowers. I love planting and seeing how they turn out. Built a house 7 years ago and started from scratch. Finally got everything in good shape. Will be planting all next week. I do something different every year.

I love the whole gardening process.

From my own cold frame right up to harvest, canning and freezing.

And you know exactly what you are consuming.

I only discovered Square Foot Gardening last year, and after my DH built our raised vegie bed I've been using the 'plan'. Has worked very well. I've just pulled the last of the summer vegies and put in my winter crop, so hope they do as well. It seems to be a great system, and easy to maintain.

Yep. Gardner here. I garden and can and freeze and dry foods. I love anything I can do to get more exercise and save a ton of money. Virg

my husband and I have a big garden every year. We plant onion sets, green beans, tomatoes, green peppers, carrots, potatoes, beets, etc. I love canning season and all the fresh veggies. It is a lot of work, but to have homemade spaghetti sauce and salsa....omg....so good. And I never have to haul all those cans home from the grocery either!

How is everyone going to deal with the stink bugs? I got some information but nothing to control them. I thought of buying cheese cloth and covering my tomato plants which will only number two.

The economy being what it is now I am sure that a lot of gardeners will appear. That is how large families made it in the fourties. We have not had a garden for several years but are setting out tomatoes today. I am starting seeds for my squash. Gives one a break then you go in and quilt. At this rate you will be well fed and warm the winter time.

Love to garden!! Also prefer my own tomato sauce, tomato juice, salsa, spaghetti sauce, chili sauce, apple sauce, pear sauce and jelly over store bought. Now if I could only find a way to grow more time to get everything done!!!
