square foot gardening and raised beds...
altho this yr i am just going to do herbs in pots since i have had to move back in w/ mom due to extenuating circumstances...
altho i might do one bed ( i did have 5 because i put up my food for the winter...yummy)
usually start everything from seed because i prefer heirlooms...the flavors are so much more potent...guess i will just search out and buy already started plants...
guess i better get to deciding what im gonna do lol

I also learned yesterday that brussel sprouts make a large plant. Gosh at the rate I am going I may have enough to feed an entire city. LOL I have not only learned a lot on here about quilting, I have also learned alot about gardening and canning.
Do they multiply?
If you purchase 2-3 year old asparagus roots, it doesn't take as long, our first year after planting was so so, but they got better every year!

I garden and share it with family and friends. I think I do it because when I was younger I use to follow my dad in his foot steps when he tilled our garden and I feel closer to him when I garden. He passed away in 98.

We put in a garden every year and would be lost without it..lol
Usually can and freeze bunches of things. Though it will more than likely be another 3-4 weeks before we are able to put it in, that is usually when it warms up enough to plant.

We have a garden and I asked my husband to till up more space this year. He didn't think we needed it, but I have added a lot more than I had last year. We canned and froze quite a bit last year and it has been very nice.
