Who likes to garden

Be sure to put in some fresh herbs. Chives, mint, parsley and basil are really easy to grow. Fresh herbs add a lot to your cooking and salads. Guess how I got the name QuiltSage? And you guys thought it had to do with quilt knowledge. Pah Sha!

I have two raised beds in a fenced in area, so for the first time I have all my plants with no deer or ground hog issues. A far cry from the 25' by 50' bed I inherited with the house, but I can keep it weeded, I don't need a plow or tiller to get it started and it produces plenty for what I need.

I love to garden. I have a nice greenhouse and my strawberries already have flowers so does my blue berry bush. I have tons of stuff there. I even found a frog to help me. This year I am also putting a big garden outside. I love fresh basil, parsley and other good stuff for you and FRESH and much cheaper.

Last year I started learning about canning and freezing.

Years ago we raised 'everything' from popcorn to melons.
Our health does not allow us to do much anymore, but we have
a small spot for tomatoes and bell peppers. Not enough to can but all we want fresh. I think once you get gardening in
your blood it's hard to stop. We do have fruit trees..some
young but we canned about 60 qts of pears last year...and a
lot of applesauce, applebutter, etc. from apples given to us.
A lot of time our fruit freezes in the bud stage, but
usually about every 3 years we get a really good crop. I
just can it up and use it in years we don't have a crop.
We love fruit, and it is sooo good.
