I love to polka! The most fun you can have standing up!
Actually, I listen to my cousin's old time radio show every Monday on streaming audio on my computer! She plays accordian, has her own travelling band in northern Minnesota, an does a volunteer Radio show from the local community college in Thief River Falls, MN. I get to request music, and listen to all the local goings on! I love that genre! Acturally she has been on that show, but I don't have cable or Dish or any of that, so I don't get to see the show. Sounds like fun, and a good time to be had by all.

I vaguely remember watching a polka show on TV when I was a kid. It was one of those pre-Prime Time half-hour shows, like Hee Haw was.

My Aunt that lives in Minnesota goes polka dancing at a little bar on Sunday afternoons. She loves it.

Every year at our annual street fair a German polka band comes to town. I'm pretty sure the youngest band member has children on social security, but they play well. All the older group gathers around and dances. I like to watch and wonder why men in my age group can't dance.

Now you are talking about something about I grew up with! My parents were king and queen of the P-o-L-K-a group in Springfield Illinois for several terms! They LOVED Yankovich, and wore their little red and white outfits to every "doin's" - They have both passed now, but I "see" them every day spinning and kicking. I could NEVER keep up with them! I was huffin' and a puffin' and they were back on the floor with EVERY dance!
