    My primary business is making veils - not wedding veils, but mantillas for worship. I have a huge customer base around the world. I also design and make aprons - frilly things often with embroidery.

    I do. I sew for all (16) my grandkids, the house, machine embroidery, window treatments, crafts, my husband, and make things for his toys, like the camper and motorcycle. And I've made him suits and shirts as well, but never sew for myself. I also make vestments for the priests, and altar cloths.

    Lately, I re-do jeans into totes, various kinds skirts & aprons just for fun. People stop me when I wear one of my skirts. I also sew tents once in a while.

    I grew up sewing my own clothes. Working in a bridal shop for awhile making gowns, etc. (enjoyed sewing but not as a job). Now I have 3 machines with a hefty investment. Hubby tells everyone that I have over $7000 in sewing machines and not one of them can mend his stuff - dahhh - they're only for quilting!!

    I haven't done much 'quilty'stuff in the last month or sew - unless you count ironing.

    But - I've made cell phone cases, cases to hang around my neck for guild meetings, and little wallets for hubby's back pocket.

    I sewed halloween costumes for my children.stuffed dolls and animals but never clothes(I can't quite get the tayloring part)I learned to sew in Home economics-my Grandmother sewed and quilted but not one other female in my family sews. My Mother brings her things to me to be repaired. My friends at work just smile-only 2 other friends(nurses) quilt and understand the fabric addiction.

    I've done all you say, but add Little Theater costuming and props to the list. That was great fun,except for the time they asked me to "just fix something on the set".
    It was to hem a donated stage-sized velvet curtain! I pinned it, then set up my machine under the curtain with it feeding over my right shoulder. I'd stitch a while, scoot backwards a while, repeat 30 times. It's funny now.

    I always wonder how much I saved by sewing and/or repairing clothes for my family. I sewed up lots of skirts/dresses for my daughter (before she had an opinion - ha). I repaired (continuously) my boys' rips/tears. My husband is 5'3", so I have to alter EVERYTHING he wears.

    I also whipped up curtains, "babies" (a doll-like thing they'd drag around), pillows, etc. I didn't have much time when the kids were small, though.

    But quilting is my passion. And I have more time now and can be found most days sewing, designing or cutting for a quilt. :D
