Pippi Longstocking, a dinosaur and and tiny butterfly were our first group. Mom accompanied them w/ the butterfly riding in a wagon. All groups had parents along, waiting in the street. We had 44 or so. I actually counted this year. Several older boys who's voices had already deepened, and made me wonder to myself, "Aren't you a bit old for doing this?" But I gave them candy anyway. What I really don't care for is no costume, mask at all. Just a bag held out for their candy treat. Only had one of those.

We had quite a few, not as many as we used to, but I have as much fun as the kids. One little boy was impressed with our decorations, so he counted all my pumpkins/jack-o-lanterns, he said there were 25...some are real, some are metal, resin, ceramic, all light up one way or the other, one is fiber-optic, which the kids all seem to enjoy. I've been collecting them for years and the neighborhood kids always seem to look forward to coming to our house...we play spooky music too and set out in the drive way to meet the trick-or-treaters with candy...we had devils, fairies, princesses, gouls, ninjas, gypsys, chinese princess, a little cougar dragging his pumpkin candy holder on the ground (about 2 years old), lady-bugs, bumble bees, just the cutest things, all of them. We lived way out in the country when I was growing up and I guess I missed doing all that, so I take full advantage of Halloween as an adult, it is so much fun seeing all the costumes and creativity; we also had a Texas Ranger...wishing them the best in the World Series, but it's not looking too good right now. Hope everyone had a fun Halloween!

The only t or ters I had were my twin boy/girl 10 yo grandchildren. The girl was a witch and the boy Michael Jackson.
We do not have a lot coming to the house because there is a street in our town designated for the activity. The houses are all decorated and the town subsidizes the family with donated packages of candy and money since it seems that just about every kid on the island goes there. It is fun for the parents too that accompany them because they get to see their friends.

No trick or treaters here either. We live in a semi-rural area and used to get a few the first couple of years we were here, but I think the kids in our area are now too old to bother.

Wish I had a picture-- our 19 mo. old redheaded great-grandson was a frog. He was so cute. He was closely followed by our 10 yr old GD as a vampire and her borhter -8- as skeleton.
    Then GD - 6 - Princess Aurora, GD - 4 - TinkerBell, GS - 21 mo. Cowboy.
Next GGD - 6 vampire, GGS - 4 - Cowboy. They were all so cute.
    I love being Grandma & G.G.
I made Whoopie Pies with orange filling and gummy worms coming out of them. They were a big hit.

Mine was my grandson - 7 months old. No candy for him yet, but it was fun just the same.

I live in a place where children don't want to come. We have a very long, long driveway in the middle of a hill. Parents don't want to come down the hill and then go up again. I wouldn't. I don't like to walk up the driveway just to get the mail.
