Small world...My mother's sister lived in Rocky Ford with her husband and three children. I loved going there. My cousin, Judy, had the most adorable little play house in the backyard...how I coveted that! LOL...love old memories, too!

I've never really been a pancake eater, but when I did eat them as a child, I had to have peanut butter and grape jelly on them. I love peanut butter, but it doesn't always like me. Did not want syrup at all, and I really don't like jellies and jams just wanted that strange combo on my pan cake. DD loves pancakes and when she comes home- DH always has to make her pancakes. I like cantaloupe, but could not think of putting gravy on it-salt / pepper maybe, but nothing else. I live in what once was a cantaloupe capital - Pecos, Tx.. There are very few raised here anymore. I like mustard on my fries as well. What strange taste buds we all have.

Hahahha, seeing the post above about the sugar and butter sandwiches made me go back at least 70 years in my mind.....my grandma would always keep us four girls for a couple of weeks during the summer, and our favorite snack was one of her "sugar biscuits" sometime between breakfast and dinner (dinner being the middle of the day meal back then). Yummmmmmm; might get up and go back some biscuits just for grandma's memory.....

My fav breakfast is pancakes w/choc gravy on it. My stepmom always made the "gravy". It's actually a thin choc syrup but it's soooo yummy! DH said Dennys is making peanutbutter pancakes w/choc syrup and they are really good. We're going to have them tomorrow morning. Can't wait! I also love toast or toasted eng muffin w/peanutbutter, nutella and banana slices on top...yum!

When I was a little kid, my mom would put a slice of her homemade bread in a bowl, sprinkle sugar over it, and then pour warm coffee with evaporated milk in it over the bread. That was a yummy treat. Then she would send me outside to play to burn off the sugar and caffeine.

My DSister used to eat grape jelly and relish! I could never even try it. She had a heart condition at age 12 and had to eat salt free peanut butter, so she made up this other combo! She has been gone since she was 19, but I still think of it every time I get out Grape jelly!
