I still have a Yahoo account but don't use it. It has been more of a testing account like if I am not sure i'm sending a link or attaching something correctly I use the Yahoo. Then either way if I've done something right or wrong I delete it.

I have gmail for personal/business with a really weird address which has always helped me with not getting a lot of spam. I also have a gmail address for ordering stuff and hubby's sports. In the last month I have starting getting 50 plus spam emails in my business/personal account and double that in the other account. Not sure what's going on but I hate to switch away from my gmail accounts.

Don't open the email. Select it, mark it as junk, and yahoo will send it to your junk file. Then you can empty your junk file. Once you have marked that address as junk, it should automatically get sent to your junk file.

It really doesn't matter if you use yahoo, gmail, hotmail or whatever. They are all subject to hacking. Yahoo is in the limelight now, but one of the others will be sooner or later. I have yahoo and have had the same account for 20 years. Yes, spam happens and like some others mentioned if I don't recognize the address, I send it to spam. I can open it safely there if I think it might be something legit. It is really sad that people use their talents for wrongdoing, instead of trying to better the world.
