Every year when the weather changed I would make a lovely (I thought) pork roast and all the rest of a feast. Only when my kids were grown up did they tell me they never liked pork?
    :)

Just an idea to ALL: if you can get it, try 'Turkey Hill' Apple Dumpling ice cream. I can make a mean apple pie but this ice cream is soooo delicious.

I am sorry. I was wrong about that. I have a cast iron apple pan that I seasoned but when I went to get it out for dumplings, it didn't quite make sense since there's cones in the pan to set the apple on but the apples are wrapped in dough. So, I dug out the instructions again and realized the pan was for baked apples, without the dough. So, those are going on the menu for this week as well.

Oh, all your apple dishes make me so home sick for New England and the snap that accompanies the bite into a fresh apple. AZ has so few varieties of apples and they lack the wonderful crispness of apples from the north east corner of the country. We always went to the orchards and picked bushels of apples for cooking, eating and storing for over the winter. Thank you for the wonderful memories. :D :D :D

Apple Dumplins sound so good! Unfortunately dough and I do NOT get along....so it's off to the local ice cream chain to see if they have them yet. Theirs are as good as homemade AND they come with a scoop of ice cream on the side. PS. if you have one in your area, I'm talking about Bruster's Ice Cream....not sure how far outside Atlanta they are.

Dang!!! Ps 150, those recipes look so good. You want to come to Bakersfield and play at my house? You are one terrific cook, my friend! I can't decide which one to try first. DH said he would peel the apples for me. :) Thanks for making my mouth water. Like I really need more to eat. mmmmmm.
