I met a quilter today in a strange place. I had to have my yearly mammogram at the clinic. And the lady who did the exam was a quilter. She had one of her works hanging in the room. A beautiful breast cancer awareness ribbon quilt she made. It was paper pieced in shades of pink and little pink flowers.

It is nice when you can have a connection to the tech running the test...since it is not a real comfortable situation anyway.

had to take our wonder cat Kimba to the vet yesturday, just for a check-up & shots... there was a large Amish quilt hanging on the wall in the lobby, a really neat modern artsy wall hanging behind the reception desk, another quilt in the exam room, another in the hall heading to the scale...it is a fairly large animal clinic and they believe pets and quilts are what makes life worthwhile :)

When taking a late friend for Chemo treatments last summer I noticed that there were several small quilts used on the walls instead of those ugly generic prints that most clinics have. One of the receptionists made them and the board of directors thought that they would make the clinic feel more relaxed and homey and in that way make the patients feel more at ease.

ROFL, now there's a reason for me to get a tattoo, so I have a conversation piece for my mammogram! Hmmm, what kind of design would be good there...

A miniature quilt block tatoo, of course. All you'd have to do is pick one you like and take the picture in. Any good tatoo artist could do it from that.

I always said I would never get a tatoo, but I would reconsider if it was a quilt block. Kinda cool idea.

As a Pentacostal I don't believe in marking our bodies but as an artist I must admit that I admire well done works of art in any form. I don't care for demonic tatoos but some tats are absolutely beautiful--on someone else. I guess if I was going to get one it would have to be a quilt block. Now your only trouble will be picking your favorite! If it's small enough you could go back each month and have another block put on---your very own personal BOM. LOL
