My Mom had one attached to an old coke bottle.
And so do I; I never spray with an iron.

I'm still using a Foley Food Mill, not for ricing potatoes though. Mine gets used for pureeing soups.

WOW - what memories! Mom used one of these on top a coke bottle filled with water - sprinkle clothes, roll up, let set a few minutes as other pieces of clothing are sprinkled, then iron the clothes., - before irons had a water reservoir. If the clothing is not ironed right away, they will get moldy! I found that out the hard way as a teen - sprinkled my clothes, forgot about it, days later had to rewash & hope to be rid of the spots on the clothes LOL

My foley food mill gets a workout during applesauce making time.

Regrettably, yes. They are bottle stoppers for sprinkling the laundry before ironing.

Thanks for refreshing my memory. Yep, I do remember those sprinkling tops. I remember we had a sprinkling top on an old (hexagon shape) glass ketchup bottle. Those were the days!! Thanks. :)

We must have grown up in the same house! I can still see the big old green coke bottle with the sprinkler top setting on the shelf above the sink in the laundry room!
