I noticed that Raymond Burr was listed on this site. He was born in Canada. I googled his name and read that he did not serve in the US military. Hard to tell what is the REAL truth on this internet thing without of loads of research.

Just because they didn't serve doesn't mean they weren't good. And Lee Marvin did indeed serve our country as did Captain Kangaroo. Only Mr Rogers did not serve and he was a wonderful man, a true kind and gentle soul. Without tattoos.

Why would you want to believe a lie about them? That lessens them.

That's where I always check when unbelieveable stories like this pop up. Mr. Rogers did NOT ever serve in the military, he did NOT wear a sweater to cover tattoos and Bob Keeshan - Captain Kangaroo - never saw combat, and Lee Marvin was not at Iwo Jima.

Yes we do. But let's celebrate THEM, not made up stories about TV stars!
