Wow that is really neat. I wonder how many treadles are out there with hidden drawers that no one knows about.
Cant wait to see pictures of your treasures.

WOW!!! That's wonderful! I love history so I especially loved your story! I was just wondering, however, why those particular items were placed in the "secret" drawers? I can perhaps understand wanting to tuck away the SSA card, but I just find it interesting that the other items would be put there. Oh, well, I guess that's a question for the ages, huh? 8-)

If these old machines could talk. Think of the stories that are hidden within the souls of old machines.

That is so interesting!!! Wow! A blast from the past!!!
I once bought a pack of letters that belonged to a woman from her girlhood right to middle age from the late 1800's to 1940's. Such fascinating reading! I have read them several times. My only sadness is that they were at a flea market and I hate to see things end up there. I wondered why her family didn't have them. I'll never know.

A collector told me that they the owners put important information or stuff that was important to them in these secret drawers because who would have thought to look in a sewing machine. The guy I met today I showed the pictures was in awe of the photos. I cannot wait to print them up. I am tracing the Gentlemans information I think this would be something the family would love to have it is in perfect condition like it was done today. If I cannot find I might see if our local history museum would like them. The union paper is very cool!!
