I've actually become rather alarmed at the number of pharmacies that are in my neighborhood. And they're ALWAYS busy. I also find it interesting how the "experts" keep changing the numbers so that 5 years ago you were considered healthy, but now you're considered diabetic, or have high cholesterol, or high blood pressure, etc even though your numbers haven't changed at all. Isn't it amazing especially when you look at who funds all the studies - oh yeah, it's the pharmaceutical companies. Imagine that.

I too was shocked at the number of thriving pharmacies in my town. How can a town of 35,000 keep that many pharmacies going? Plus that many more just five miles away? Surrounding smaller towns have one or two and then there are those that get medicine from mail order. I rarely to to a pharmacy to buy otc meds. The grocery store has all the basic ones.
