I don't think my TV is a smart TV but with my cable "DIVO" box I can add Youtube and a number of other sites to my TV. With DVD movies you purchase some have this code you can enter into your computer on certain websites and be able to watch that movie on your TV thru Youtube without having the actual DVD in your player. Also if you have a ROKU device on your TV, you can also get Youtube and I've been able to get one of our blacked out channels. I tried to get the ABC channel but it says I have to sign on thru my cable company so didn't bother to go further on trying it out.

We have a Samsung smart TV (photo below). On the remote you press the "house button. This brings up the app screen on the bottom. As you can see there is an Internet tab.
If you have an App tab or something like it on your tv, click on the tab and search for the internet app. Ours was already there when we first fired up the tv. I hope this helps.

I watch YT videos all the time of the TV. Roku makes is so easy! We watch everything from quilting shows to church services and a whole lot else in between. YT opened a whole new world for DH who spends the majority of his time in bed. No going back.

Sorry for not responding back sooner. I just wrote a long response and it did not post; which is why I'm not on here much.
Chasing Hawk, I'm not going to repeat all I said before, but I also have a Samsung, but I didn't set the smart part up when I bought it and now its not cooperating. I can get on the internet but there isn't anything that I can see about adding the mouse and keyboard.
I do have Roku on another tv and I watch YT mainly on there rather than the Samsung just because it's easier. BUT, you have to keep the Roku remote in your hand to "skip ads" when they let you.
I take it that those who watch YT on the tv put up with the ads since no one replied to that question?
Thanks for replying.
