I have read this forum for about a year now. The question concerning former 4-H members and how 4-H has impacted your lives has blessed my heart and made me want to respond. I was a home economics teacher for 13 years and have been a parish (word Louisiana uses for county) 4-H agent now for 20 years. I have been fortunate for all those years to have a very rewarding career. I am planning to retire this summer but will always be involved with the 4-H program. I have seen youth gain confidence, leadership and become vital citizens in their communities through their 4-H experiences. I have been taking youth to camp for the past twenty years and I have taken all of my camp t-shirts and made a quilt. (see picture)

4-H impacted my life as a youth and I am glad that so many of you have fond memories, also.

I have learned a lot, reading all of your post. I encourage each of you to use your talents and share them with a group of young people. You will make a difference! All 4-H programs can use good volunteers.

Great idea for the quilt. Can you make it bigger?

The quilt has only been pieced. I haven't quilted it, yet. This is the best I can do sending a picture.

Hi, I work in my county's extension office and have worked with some great agents. My current one is the BEST. Extension Agents work hard, put in many hours, and make a tremendous difference in the lives of our youth. My hat is off to you. Great quilt!
