Default 77 years young, and not sure what I'm doing!!!

Hi from very wet Wales. Have always loved fabrics and have made many quilts but have now become hooked on bargello. Would like to try to design my own patterns but not sure of the best way to begin. Can anyone reccommend a computer program or is it best to use graph paper. ?? Need to get going as I'm not getting any younger.!! Help.! what's a tag?

Welcome from Ontario, Canada. You might be able to design on graph paper but I don't know any computer design program for Bargello.

I haven't done much with making original Bargello patterns but I use EQ7. I made this quilt for one of my friends who is a member of this board. The first is the drawing that was the original design and the second was the quilt body done and I was trying to decide on the borders.

I use graph paper and colored pencils when I design my quilts.
