Hi my name is Barbara and I am 77. I have been reading messages on this site for a few weeks. I have enjoyed the stories about quilting, and colors and patterns, but have not had a real need to respond to any of them. BUT, today I read a posting from a lady, 71 years old that had a doubt about starting anything new due to her age. Well, what would you be doing if you quit quilting? Come on, start something new and just keep it going, fun and useful will win every time.

So true..... I'm 68 and just took up quilting about a year ago, and I'm having a ball! And tomorrow night I'm going to my first punch needle meeting, cause I would like to make little rugs for my dollhouse.

I can't get out and about as much as I use to, but am enjoying learning about things that I didn't have time for before I retired. And my brain needs the exercise!

i didn't see the original posting;........but.......at 66 and feeling 80 some days....go for it....if you can get enthusiastic about a new project do it. keep notes as you go along, picture the pleasure of it finished but enjoy the process. be content with the day, who knows the future.

So much to do, so little time. Yes, health issues might interfere with all our plans, but we're not dead yet!

Welcome from Alabama. You know, sometimes I actually have to stop and think, how old am I? Mainly when some cashier asks if I'm old enough for senior discount. I lose track. I guess it's because I don't really care how old I am. Age is only a state of mind, and my mind is notorious for not acting it's age. I still toss a baseball or football around with my GS, go skating with him, play volleyball in the pool with him and I'm the first one in line at the amusement park to get on any roller coaster. If I'm stiff and sore the next day, oh well, I usually had a great time and I refuse to give that up because of a number.
