Hello again. Can add some info now about my adventure into Hawaiian quilting. My DIL & GD brought me a couple books on the subject and a design book. So my granddaughter picked out some Kona cotton yesterday and I am going to embark on making her one or two pillows. I promised her one for a Christmas present. Since I have made several wedding gowns with lots of hand beading, I figure I am an expert at hand sewing. I don't love it, but love a challenge. If I ever get it done I will post pictures.

grann of 6....Traditional Hawaiian quilting is very pretty with teeny tiny hand stitches. I'm glad that you have the patience to try your hand at it. I've seen some local quilters who have used hand dyed fabrics (like the kind from India) instead of the solid white background and solid colors for the design. Keep me posted when you finish your project.
