Greetings and welcome from New Hampshire
I loved your story; really look forward to seeing your quilt someday
My son and his aunt are going to Cork, Ireland next month for a huge Hughes family reunion.
His Aunt Kathy is the only survivor of his Dad's siblings.
Folks are coming from all over the world.

I have been having a great time getting very familiar with my machine and all the wonderful attachments. I love the automatic threader. Now my dogs won't have to leave the room when I get really frustrated trying to thread those impossibly small holes anymore. Changing the feet is a snap, literally, with this new machine.
I spent some time today working on trying out doing appliques from scrap material on some of my endless supply of muslin. It was so much easier than I thought it would be, using the computerized stitches on the machine. But I will get in plenty of practice before I attempt to go for real.
I am so glad I decided to take up quilting.
