Bonjour from France!

Hello everyone, I've just been introduced to your lovely site by a fellow quilter here in France.
I've been doing patchwork since about the age of 14 (30 years and counting!) but only in the last few years have I developed into a quilter - and now I've got the calloused finger to prove it! I mostly work by hand EPP and straight forward piecing, but I do machine piece if it's a simple block. I've been in France for 4 years, got two kids aged 6 and 4 and my partner is Dutch - he's away 2 or 3 nights a week on business so patchwork passes those quiet evenings a treat! I'm on a mission to cover every inch of wall in the house with a quilt - beats painting and decorating!
The challenge here in rural France is getting supplies - my two 'nearest' fabric shops are an hour and a half's drive and fairly limited in choice so I buy a lot online - even from the good old US of A sometimes, you guys seem to get those lovely new ranges of Moda, Kauffman etc way before the UK!
Cheers all!

Thanks for the welcomes!
It's actually sunny today here Izy, I'm in the South Haute Vienne, near Limoges. We seem to have escaped the worst of the weather, it's just been damp and miserable - good excuse to stay indoors and sew!!!
As for seeing my work...am I brave enough to go public? Only friends and family have seen it so far and they HAVE to be nice, although my kids are fairly severe critics  !

Yes, born in Blackpool but brought up in the New Forest; I came to France four years ago with my now ex husband who wanted to come here (i didn't!). He's ironically gone back to the UK but I stayed!
