I always recommend Quilt IN a Day books with Eleanor Burns.. for first time. Its fast, easy and and you dont get disgusted and quit. you can learn a lot of basic from her. then on to bigger and better. any Quilt Shop has her books. good luck. and my motto is "Done is Better than Perfect"
