I have an old pattern for the size and shape, and then I just start getting creative. Since the girls live in a beach area, they had to have a beach theme.
The lady, sun, are embroidery designs, embroidered out on heavy stabilizer & then cut very closely to the outside stitching and then applique'd on the background.
The other one, the floral's are embroidered and treated the same as above, and then placed on the background. Trees, waves, etc., are all fussy cut and then applieque`d on. Just lots and lots of fun. And then the back and the front are joined with binding, the front panel is quilted, and all I used were scraps from my "stash". I would be more than happy to mail you the pattern if you wish, I found it in a magazine years and years ago, probably like 30 plus. Let me know. Oh, and I do raw edge, none of this "handwork" for me!!!
