Hello - I'm from Northern Virginia. I made my first quilt when Granddaughter #3 was born; waited another 10 years and made one for Granddaughter #4's first b'day. Haven't stopped since! I love it all -- piecing, applique, hand quilting, hand embroidery, etc. I am beginning to venture out and try to go beyond stitch-in-the-ditch machine quilting. I'm overwhelmed by meandering! Have a wonderful sewing room, lots of stash, patterns, notions, and ideas, but most of all a wonderful husband who encourages me to be creative and enjoy my hobby. I'm retired and have many sewing friends who share my interests. I'm simply blessed beyond words!

Sounds like a dream world. Glad you have your friends and husband to encourage you. Hope you enjoy the board and come often. I am new here too, but already love this place, hope you do too.

Did you make the quilt in your photo? Very cute. My grandkids are mostly grown up now so I am beginning to make bigger, more modern quilts. But I miss those cute kid quilts I made when they were little!
