I made a table runner for my sister a few years ago. I didn't have a pattern, but I made 3 log cabin blocks and set them on point with triangles in between them and then formed a border around the whole thing. I don't have a picture of it, but if I find one I will send it to you. It was very simple, but still looked nice. Good luck!
