Welcome from another Washington State person. When I grew up in Spokane we went to Deer Lake for picnics. One year I accidently kicked off a new sandal into the lake at the end of a dock! My mother was furious with me, but a nice guy dove down and fetched it for me. It dried very stiff but I had to wear it!
