A former quilter newbie skeptic...
Hello! I am a quilter newbie...just 5 weeks old! Good friend and I decided to take a beginner quilters class and have I have to say, I went along with it, but did not think I enjoy learning to quilt! Much to my surprise, I truly enjoyed this new adventure! I'm experienced in sewing, counted x-stitch, crochet and some knitting. I have always liked 'quilted' jackets and it's my goal to one day make one or two!

Hi Libby,
Welcome.
I too was a person who initially did not think I would like quilting at all. However, after a five or six week intro class ten years ago, I was in love. (The class was a gift by a very wise friend who had been urging me to quilt with her for a few years already).

Welcome from the gulf! Quilts so have to be a fancy dance. They can be big square patches. They can be machine, hand or tied. They don't have to have a fancy quilted pattern, they can be in the ditch or cross hatch or as one of the members and I have done is line, no swirls and curls. Try it on a pillow size square. You just might surprise yourself. Have fun in whatever your choice may be.
