A sunny hello from NC (although it's raining today). Would love to see pictures of the fabric since it's so old. Depending on how fragile the material is, or the colors used in it, you may want to hand wash the fabric rather than machine wash. If there are no spots, I may not wash it at all. Good luck and post pics after it is completed too please.

Welcome from Wisconin! I've seen those butterfly quilts, I think they are coming back in style! There was one on the cover of a quilt magazine just recently!
